Biography

Wong was born in Macao in 1947 and worked as an art teacher in the 70s, the time when he began to participate in different types of art-related activities. During the 80s, he worked for the Education Bureau (nowadays known as the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau) to hold training programs for art teachers, taught in the courses on Western painting organized by the Macao Artists Society and prepared art training programs for local schools and associations.

He founded the “Yellow Mountain Painting Academy and his works had been displayed in successive editions of the “National Art Exhibition”. During these years, his master works were showcased in different places in Guangdong province and in Macao, particularly in the exhibitions co-organized by the Macao Artists Society and the Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao. In the 90s, he participated several times in the Invitational Exhibition Tour of Watercolors held in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, the Collective Exhibition on Works of Members of Macao Artists Society and collaborated with local painter Lio Man Cheong to hold the “Duo Exhibition of Sketch Art.”

By 2000, Wong participates in the “Exhibition of works from Macao – Splendid Tibet” and hence went to Tibet to make sketches of the local landscapes. After his return, he joined in a series of exhibitions, namely “Discovering Tibet” and the “Collective Exhibition on Works of Members of Macao Artists Society”, and had made a collaborative exhibition with local artists Lio Man Cheong and Sio In Leong titled “Three Sentiments of Watercolors”. Currently, he is an art teacher of Pui Ching Secondary School in Macau.
