Biography
With over 30 years of experience in the design field, Wilson Lam, the founder of Macau Creations, is renowned in Canada and his homeland Macau, China for his unique vision and his ability to transform ordinary into extraordinary.
He has carved a name for himself as a premium-branding expert and has led projects for Donald Trump (marketing material for Trump Towers Toronto), Air Macau (logo and corporate identity system) and acted as design consultant for the University of Macau.
With the golden award of China Branding Design, he has also been invited by Beijing University to guest lecture on the topic of design and branding in 2002. Wilson first made his mark in the design field in 1980 where he started New Impressions Advertising; he soon immigrated to Canada and attended the well-known Ontario College of Art and Design for Corporate Design. In 1993, Wilson established his own highly regarded design firm in Toronto. His expertise in design and branding has made his services highly sought after.
His recent award winning project for Square One Shopping Centre “Be the One” campaign has garnered much attention from his peers and once again solidifies Wilson’s reputation as one of Canada’s leading designers. Although Wilson is in Canada, he has kept contact with Macau clients. In 2008, Macau Post has released its third generation of lunar year stamps, the stamp designs of the 12 animals will be released in the next few years. Also Bank of China Macau Branch’s, BOC express logo-design is prepared and designed by Wilson Lam.
In 2009, Wilson was commissioned, after a lengthy screening process, to design another series of lunar stamps for Canada Post. He designed the 2010 year of the tiger stamp for Canada, making him the first person to create lunar stamps for both Macau and Canada post, He has effectively left his mark in the creative realm, and now pursues an even greater challenge as he breaks down all barriers and enters the business side of the art world with Macau Creations.
Wilson’s client list includes: Bank of China, Coca-Cola, Royal Bank Canada, Hudson Bay Company, Air Macau, Donald Trump, Evian etc.
