Contest A Child’s view on World Heritage received more 600 Entries
The entry submission of A Child view on World Heritage: Macau Drawing Contest for Children 2011 was successfully completed on the 31st of May, 2011. Its organizer Headquarters of the Macau Cultural Creative Industry Association announced more than 600 entries were received for this contest. Meanwhile, there were 126 works submitted for the Senior Category, 279 for the Intermediate Category and 204 for the Junior Category. These works will be selected by judges in mid-June and results will be announced right after.
We were not only surprised by the amount of contestants that entered, but also by the incredible range of media used. The submissions included works created with: poster colors, watercolors, crayon, oil pastels, color pencils, collage, ink and wash painting etc. With such a great response, we’re pleased to say that we’ve achieved our goal in promoting the idea of heritage in the children of Macau. The artwork submitted was beautiful. All the children had such unique perspectives that were both innocent and fearless. With creative freedom, our children may grow happily and pass on the customs of Macau onto the next generation. Today, we have been reminded that not only the government, but also schools, private sectors and many individuals know the importance of culture.
This contest is sponsored by Macau Creations and Welfare Printing Ltd, and is Supported by Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macau SAR, Macao Museum of Art, Macao Polytechnic Institute, School of Arts, Macao Post Office, Macau Art Society and Macau University of Science and Technology, and The Faculty of Humanities & Arts.
